My time as Commodore is up and will be handing over the helm at the AGM at 20:30 on Friday 24th of February. All full members are welcome to attend the actual meeting itself, though of course the bar will be open as usual with cheese and biscuits available post the meeting to welcome in the new Flag Officers. As I have said before I have thoroughly enjoyed my watch and am immensely proud to have served as Commodore. We have an eclectic and talented membership whose skills I hope will continue to be volunteered to the benefit of the Club. No doubt there will be some changes in the future but as long as the spirit and intention remains in getting as many people as possible safely out on the water and then afterwards the same number into the bar I’m sure we will go from strength to strength! Thanks again for listening.
Ready about..Lee ho !
After a very brief two years I have arrived at my final ‘Cocktail Sunday’ as Commodore.. I’ve had a great time and I hope you have enjoyed the Club as much as I have. I have been very lucky to have had such a dedicated team covering all aspects of Club life and am deeply grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way. The Essex Yacht Club is a wonderful institution where it has been an absolute privilege to have flown the Commodores burgee and so I hope you will find time tomorrow to join me aboard the Wilton for a cocktail and my last 100 Club draw!
